Rosgengarten Gorge
One of the most precious biotopes of Tirol is only a brief stroll from the town centre: Rosengarten gorge, through which you can hike up to Hoch-Imst.
Schinderbach brook digs its way from the blue grotto through the rocky ridges of the sub-mountainous terraces of Imst to Johanneskirche bridge (altitude difference: 250m). Geologists find millions of years of Earth history displayed there. All those who do not go in for geology can admire the scenic beauty of Rosengarten gorge, its abundance of flowers, animals and stones. A guided geological-botanical hike is the best and most intensive way to experience the wild-romantic gorge and its fantastic nature spectacles.
Hiking Tip
Hike together with your children (approx. 1 – 1.5 hours) from Imst through the wild-romantic gorge and past the blue grotto to Hoch-Imst. In Hoch-Imst hikers are awaited by the Alpine Coaster, Albin’s Play Park, the Imster Bergbahnen lifts, rest stops and a lot more.
