Both Untermarkter Alm and Latschenhütte invite you to recharge your batteries with their delicious local delicacies. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the sun on the large terraces at both of these mountain lodges. Otherwise, curl up in one of the restaurants' quaint little rooms.
Just next to the Imster Bergbahn middle station, right by the ski slopes and the start of the natural toboggan run, the Untermarkter Alm in the heart of Tyrol has served as a meeting point for skiers, tobogganists, winter hikers and foodies alike. A large sun terrace and a range of traditional local dishes are waiting for you some 1,500m above sea level. Wednesday is pasta night and on certain Fridays the restaurant hosts a jazz night with game specialities. Ribs and Austrian style pork knuckle are on the menu on Saturdays.
With its cosy, convivial atmosphere, the Latschenhütte provides rustic Tyrolean fare for the Hoch-Imst ski resort. Landlady Mrs Waltraud and her team are waiting to welcome you onto her sunny terrace and in the cosy rooms with traditional recipes from the region including a range of specialities. Celebration is something of a tradition here too: In addition to its weekly tobogganing evenings with live music (Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays), Latschenhütte is also a popular location for private celebrations.
There are a number of ways to access the mountain hut: From the Alpjoch downhill ski route or the Obermarkter Alm toboggan run. A twenty minute walk on the winter hiking route leaving from the middle station takes you straight to the door. The ascent to Latschenhütte from Hoch-Imst via the Opferstock offers a unique route full of natural discovery for ski tourers.
