Learn to ski for free

Getting on the slopes for the very first time is a wonderful and unique experience for new skiers. Putting on those heavy boots for the first time and hearing the clasps click shut as you clamber tentatively to your feet with the help of your sticks is something you never forget. Our skiing kindergarten welcomes your future ski stars with a range of fun activities and skiing exercises to get them out onto the slopes. Little ones will feel very grown up indeed as they showcase their new skills in front of their proud parents. All this is completely free at the Hoch-Imst ski resort.

Free skiing courses for children

The sun is shining, the peaks of Hoch-Imst are glistening the purest of white. There already quite a commotion going on in the car park at the ski resort. The Italians are rushing around, the English are having a last sip of tea from their Thermos flasks, the little twins from Austria are donning their colourful new ski helmets. The free ski course for children aged 3-6 years is about to begin and everyone is eager to get there on time. It's important to arrive on time to hear the instructions before starting! Click here for dates and conditions.

Playful learning makes even much more fun

Learning through play is the most fun way to build up children's skiing skills. Depending on age, the ski instructors at Hoch-Imst provide courses of 2-4 hours per day. The fun starts right at the beginning of the lesson, with jumping, dancing and running around, followed by a warm up before heading out onto the slopes. Once parents meet the friendly ski instructors and see the range of equipment available, they are hardly surprised at how quickly their little ones start whizzing around on the snow. And progress comes very quickly: Once they've mastered the initial steps, kids can jump onto Bobo's magic carpet and be comfortably transported up the slopes. For the first few practice runs, there are plenty of fun obstacles and bumps to negotiate and wigwams and igloos to explore.

The great ski school race

The bravest among budding skiers have the opportunity to take the cable car (free of charge) on their third day and take turns to make the trip all the way from the top to the bottom. The gently rolling slopes of the Hoch-Imst ski resort are perfect for keeping an eye on the kids and provide the perfect terrain for beginners of all ages. The highlight of the week is the great ski school race which takes place every Friday. It's not just about the fastest one winning a medal; the most important part is bringing our young skiers together to practice this wonderful sport. And there's another reason for parents to get excited: All the fantastic activities available in Hoch-Imst are available at a very reasonable price.
